Medical Event Recorder · Effective date: 10 April 2026 · Last updated: 10 April 2026

Short version: Medical Event Recorder stores all of your data on your device only. We do not collect, transmit, or share any personal or medical information. Your data never leaves your device unless you choose to export it yourself.

1. Who We Are

Medical Event Recorder is developed and published by Notiva, an Australian business operating under ABN registration. Our website is www.notiva.com.au.

For privacy-related enquiries, contact us at: privacy@notiva.com.au

2. What Information the App Uses

When you use Medical Event Recorder, you may record the following information about medical events:

  • Date and time of the event
  • Event type (e.g. seizure type, symptom category)
  • Duration
  • Severity
  • How you were feeling before, during, and after
  • Possible triggers
  • Referral information
  • Free-text notes

This information is entered voluntarily by you and is used solely to display your event history within the app.

3. Where Your Data Is Stored On-device only

All data you enter into Medical Event Recorder is stored locally on your device.

Your data does not leave your device unless you choose to export it.

4. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, access, or process:

  • Personal identifiers
  • Device identifiers
  • Location data
  • Usage analytics
  • Any network-transmitted data

The app does not require an account or registration.

5. Data Export

You may export event history as CSV. Exported data is fully under your control.

6. Third-Party Services

No analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services are used.

7. Children's Privacy

Medical Event Recorder is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Because all data is stored locally on your device and no information is transmitted to Notiva, the app does not have a mechanism to collect data from any user, including children. No account or registration is required to use the app.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has entered personal information into the app, you can delete that information directly within the app, or by uninstalling it.

8. Sensitive Health Information

No health data is transmitted or processed by Notiva.

9. Your Rights (Australian Privacy Act 1988)

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access, correct, and delete personal information held about you. Because Medical Event Recorder stores all data locally on your device and transmits nothing to Notiva, you have full and direct control over your information at all times.

Specifically, you may:

  • Access your data — all records are visible within the app at any time.
  • Correct your data — you can edit or update any recorded event within the app.
  • Delete your data — you can delete individual events within the app, or remove all data by uninstalling the app.
  • Export your data — you can export your event history as a CSV file for your own use.

As Notiva does not receive or hold any of your personal information, there is no data held by us to request, correct, or delete. If you have a privacy-related question or concern, contact us at privacy@notiva.com.au.

10. Medical Disclaimer

This app is not a medical device and does not replace medical advice.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, applicable law, or our practices. When we make changes, we will update the Last updated date at the top of this page.

For significant changes — particularly any that would affect how data is handled — we will communicate the update within the app itself. Continued use of the app after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

We encourage you to review this page periodically. The current version of this policy is always available at www.notiva.com.au/medical-event-recorder/privacy/.
